In early June 2009, Jonathan S. Palma the President of Asian College of Aeronautics and Capt. Ferdinand F. Tan, an upcoming dynamic entrepreneur and avid aviator conceived an idea to expand the horizon vastly offered by the prospering aviation industry in the Philippines. What more opportunity there is to develop, but something related and parallels the college of aeronautics. Thus, the creation of Asian College of Aeronautics Flying School makes the best sense. Putting up a flying school not only compliments the Asian College of Aeronautics , but in many forms, a business that is similar, where the experience gained in establishing an aeronautical college can be used in operating the flying school. Besides, it creates opportunities to the incoming graduates, specially the deserving ones to be incorporated in the college by supplying manpower both pilots and mechanics, as an advantage to the enrollees. And because of these, the President of Asian College of Aeronautics, tapped the expertise of Capt. Ferdinand F. Tan, a 737 pilot, with 18 years of flying experience in various airlines and flying schools, and an original member of Philippine Air Force of Class 90, together with Capt. Andree Camlian, flight instructor, also with impeccable credential and enthusiasm, to be the mentors for ground and flight training instruction, bonded together and created the aviation school and named it ASIAN COLLEGE OF AERONAUTICS FLYING SCHOOL (ACAFS). The School created a syllabus that is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and compliments all other training requirements set by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), extending our availability to other member states willing to send their students in our care. ACAFS main objective is to train students professionally, responsibly, honest in dealings and full skill development. Presently the fleet of the School is: Cessna-152, C-172, Warrior, PA34-200 (Seneca) and an on TOP CIRRUS SIMULATOR. The instructor put their trust in these equipments based on its performance and reliability. We will operate in 3/F Teresa Bldg., CITISALES, Lacson St., Mandalagan Bacolod City, mostly for the ground schooling and paper works for the licenses, in Silay for the primary flight and other airports both international and domestic for the basic and course completion flights.
